I have the same obstacle with “Blankets” – it’s just so dang big! But after reading “Habibi,” I think I’m ready to give it a try.

And holy smoke, the “Parker” books are great, aren’t they? I might’ve shouted when I saw it in the library. And possibly pushed people out of the way.

Cooke’s “Parker” adaptations are just so, so good. I haven’t read the original novels yet — I keep looking for “The Hunter” in the local used bookstore, but I may eventually shell out the extra bucks to get it on the Kindle…

Haven’t read “Habibi” yet — haven’t even finished “Blankets” yet… :/

The room is dark and cool, and directly above where you lay a couple of the flourescent lighting panels have been replaced with a translucent image of a pretty stream running through a well-manicured park. Something to relax you.

Considering it’s you, they should change that to some pages of a Jimmy Olsen comic or something similar.

Aw, thanks, Rob! I can’t wait to see the finished book!

I want to say I have a Superman anniversary book somewhere with the same gold leaf, but for some reason it just wasn’t as striking as it was on this issue of Detective. I wonder if that was the beginning of the foil/holgram/die-cut era?

GREAT story Max; exactly the kind of thing my book Hey Kids, Comics! will feature, hopefully as entertainingly!

I too remember seeing the gold imprint DC used for these anniversary books; it made them seem so…special!
